STEP Software has been creating software for Linux since it was founded in 2005. Some of our developers first started writing software for Linux as early as 1994, using the Slackware distro. Back then it meant downloading many images and rawwrite’ing them to floppy disks. We love Linux so much that our STEP Software internal native projects all compile to Linux (in addition to Windows and macOS).

We write Linux software using C/C+, .NET (Mono), Delphi & Lazarus (Object Pascal), Java, and more. We also run much of our Python machine language services and LAMP stack software here.

  • CLion
  • Qt Creator
  • CLang
  • GCC
  • Eclipse CDT
  • Lazarus
  • PyCharm
  • Autoconf
  • Vim
  • Valgrind
  • And more …

There’s too many libraries to mention when it comes to Linux. We link to everything.
